Help. Need to know if an engine swap will work!

Okay so here's the deal. I need to know if a 5sfe will bolt onto a tranny for a 92 tranny. I've been searching and can't find anything that says yea or no. I know it's a motor that sits sideways but in some applications it runs awd vehicles. Can anyone lend any helpful info?

The motor that was in the 92 is a 3vz.

It looks like the tranny still bolts to the rear of the motor, it's just whether the bolt pattern will match up

google it..... will your input shaft and splines work with the motor?? bolt pattern and starter work??? you will probably need an adapter plate at the minimum. do some research... read, search, read some more. it probably is too costly and has too many disadvantages for it to become a popular swap like the 5vze or 7mge.

not only that. you will probably have to get new motor mounts welded to the frame. I am assuming you have a 4wd truck based on your avatar. with the front drive shaft hit the oil pan?? what electronics will you have to switch over?? your 92 truck has OBD I computer but Im willing to bet the 5sfe is OBD II (although im not for certain) so how much wiring and computer work will you have to do?? there are probably a million other details I am forgetting about right now. I am in no way telling you not to do this, im just trying to get you prepared for the long road ahead. Google will definitely be you friend. good luck!

I have been researching all morning. I can't find anything where anyone has done that sort if swap. I don't know if I could possibly just be typing in the wrong search words or what but I haven't been able to find what I'm looking for.

Yea well the frame I have is actually for an 80 model. So motor mounts will definitely have to be rewelded. The guy who is selling the motor is scrapping the car and will give me the ECM and whatever else I need to make the motor run.

So that motor swap will not work. Nothing I saw will accommodate a 4 wheel drive transmission.
