help! melted wires!

ok so i put a new spotlight on my truck and i left an effing wire stripper upnder the hood and it just happende to @#$% eveything up. my truck wont start and there are some melted wires that are running from the battery to most likely the computer. if those are melted do you think my wiring harness and computer are melted too? ill try to get some pics on here asap but it is a yellow wire and a black wire running from the battery over to the driver side, you can see it by either te steering pump or gear box i cant remember but you cant miss them, and back to who knows where. I need Help!

no not yet. im graduating soon and im doing a bunch of crap for that so i had to leave my truck where it was and im about to go to church and i have stuff to do all day so i def. wont have pics today.

ok well i went back after all the crap i had to do and examined it better and realized that it melted a ground wire and i just twisted it back together and it ran beautifully.

If the truck was never turned on while the wires were melted or in the process of melting, I would believe that it wouldn't fry any components. Usually, anyway.

There's a good chance you fried the ecu along with the wires. the pliers were touching the pos and neg on the harness and this caused the issues. so I woudl look at a new harness AND ecu.

Hey, I screwed up like this when I was a kid too. I connected the batteries positive to negative while jumping my old toyota van. Those heavy 10 gauge wires were starting to melt!

I can't remember how I removed the clips, but I can only remember my mom yelling at me!
