Could be the rear corner brackets, the front valence bracket is angular and iirc has a stud so it's not those.

why not look on your 1st gen?

they are not the same as any of the bumper/trim brackets on any of my 3 1st gens, front or rear.

i did and thanks.
it’s nothing like the original bumper brackets on my 86 step bumper and the later model step bumper i run now has no plastic ends.

Kind of looks like a corner reinforcement.. Nope nothing under the front or rear on the 94.

And someone stole one of my parking lights, or I forgot to out one in nah I remember doing an inspection of the lights before I hit the DMV for plates and Vin inspection..

Pretty sure an '89 4runner is a second gen. But I have no idea what those parts are.

no. 1st gen 4runners go '84 to '89. the 2nd gen 4runner began in '90. however, the pickup changed in '89.

OK. i solved it. they are brackets that go to the rear bumper, holding the lower edge of the end cap in place. i should have looked at my white 4runner, not the red one, since the above bracket came with the red one and thus wasn't on it. they are indeed part of the rear bumper trim assembly/support, for the chintzy chrome "bumper" that dents if you breathe on it too hard.

the rounded area is the bottom of the part, and the bottom of the plastic end cap mounts to it, while the two holes on either side of the R (or L) mount to the small body tang that hangs down at the rear corners.
