$300 89 4runner?

Hey guys!
So, today I was given the opportunity to buy a 89 4Runner for $300!
It has over 350k miles on it, but it seems decent enough. Drove it around, sounds/handles fine. He still takes it off road so its capable.
What do you guys think? Im sure there more than $300 worth of parts on this thing

It is probably a 90 or newer model as the 89 runner was the previous generation. If it runs, it is probably worth that in parts as they are worth more in pieces. A transmission in my local salvage goes for $500. That is salvage prices. Depends on what you are wanting to do with it and if it is worth it to you.

Depends on your plans.

Off road play toy??

DD might be some work

Then just what engine and Trans??

If the hatch is in good shape and the window works plus the Front bumper you have your money back

If you have the room to keep it at home

But beware in the dark of night they tend to reproduce.

I started with two now there is 8

Funny how states do things at times since the new models hit the dealers around now to mid September

I have a 86 IFS pick up titled as a 85 every thing is legal it would be sad for a clueless person always asking for parts for a 85 so very frustrating

I think the production date was like Oct 85

I know it is between August and September when Toyota switches production model years, Just have figured it out yet.

I bought a 90 for 300 bucks that looks way worse then yours. But if agree I'd make sure she's legal before taking her home.

The door tag probably says it was manufactured in 1989 but that's a 1990. Just like the Toyotas they made at the factory today are 2017 models.

If it runs and drives and you can get a legal title go for it. Even if it doesn't run there must be $300 in parts on it! Good luck.

Sell me the turn signal rock guards - LOL
Seriously, agree that it's a good deal even if only for parts alone.
