Help ID wire location please! Alternator?

1991 pickup 22re 5speed 4x4 standard cab deluxe.

Larger guage wire I traced back to the drivers kick panel area, it lands in a connector above the small fuse panel in that area. This particular wire may have come off the alternator lug/stud but i already have one wire going there coming from the positive post on the drivers inside fender area.

I recently replaced the 3 pin round pigtail on the back of the alternator and am pretty certain i have that sorted properly as well as the larger wire on the main alternator post.

I am just not sure about the last one i forgot to label before i removed it. Any help or insight into alternator wiring, diagrams, photos etc. would be very much appreciated. Thank you

Connector photos

Anyone recognize these connectors and how they should be wired up. They are part of the the charging system. Thanks

Your top photo is a junction block. Your alternator has a connector with wires, the one you replaced, and a larger, single wire that attaches to a lug. That larger wire goes from the alt to that same junction block. After it leaves the junction block it goes over to the fuse box near the battery and connects to one of the larger fuses.

Thank you Jimkola, I'll be working on this again today as a fathers day present to myself.

So if i understand that correctly and doing some other research, the larger single wire that is coming from the lug on the alternator is the "B" terminal, also the alternator OUTPUT terminal and that particular wire went through the junction block in the photo above and then back over to the fuse box near the battery. Which is protected by a 40A fuse possibly.

Correct. I actually remade that short harness on my 1987. The single, thicker wire definitely went to a junction on the inner apron.
Your other photo is tougher. My suspicion of that many wires of the same color(B-Y) has something to do with igniter, injectors, etc. But our 22re injection system is different, so my 1987 manual isn't much help. I thought maybe that single white wire was related to distributer, but not sure.

That half of the junction block with the black w/yellow stripe wires was an ebay replacement from10 years ago that I had spliced in after the battery had jumped up, hit the hood, shorted and melted some things. I feel like the single wire eye connector terminal in the second photo above went from the alternator output lug to the stud on the inner fender apron. But that would contradict your idea that it went through that 4pin junction block and back to the fuse/relay box by the battery.

Now I'm thinking the single wire connector would go to that stud on the inner fender, and then wire from alternator output stud into junction block/harness/fuse/ battery.

Yeah, I thought I saw evidence of fire/heat damage. My guesses are just that, and with wiring being replaced with colors other than oem I’m at a huge disadvantage.
im positive my single wire with the lug terminals went from alt to junction. My FSM then shows from junction back to fuse block by battery. But we have different generations, so yours could be different. A 1991 FSM would be useful.

You’re luckier than most. The Toyotas towed to our service dept that had engine fires all had axe holes in the hood so the fire dept could shove a hose in there. Loose battery was the cause for every one of them.
