help ID this noise/problem plz

in 4wd @ highway speeds when i let off the gas pedal i hear a rattle/vibration that sounds similar to the engine but slightly louder and it seems to be coming from around the right front tire or thereabouts. i had a peak at the CV boots and they are not torn but i know that isn't always necessary to indicate a CV problem. i didn't check the u-joints on the drive shaft yet, but that is my next theory. anything else that might be causing this sound? thanks in advance.

U-Joint was my first thought...

how many miles on them that you're aware of? when's the last time you greased them?

for $15 and maybe 30 minutes an end, if you're unsure about their condition, I'd replace them anyway; seen Yotas&Jellos's thread recently with the broken flange?

Oh, and LMAO at your sig; pig and elephant DNA just wont splice, bahahaha, that was a funny episode

I noticed mine makes noise vibration with hubs locked with or with out 4h at highway speed. I'm going to check grease u joints and axle oil, tomorrowish and unlock the hubs since most of the roads a clear now. Possible driveshaft out of balance or damaged, too.

spindle bushings crossed my mind to, but I think that would be non stop, not jut accur when you let off the throttle...

but I could be wrong...

still not sure what the cause is. i drove around to listen to it some more and it sounds kinda like an engine brake, just not nearly as loud and it only lasts for 2-3 seconds after i let off the gas pedal in 4wd
