HELP! #2 Cylinder shows Low/No Compression

HELP! #2 Cylinder shows Low/No Compression
Well, I finally took my 4Runner to a reputable mechanic, he installed the spark plugs correctly (charged me $25... should have just let them do them)...
But #2 Cylinder is not showing any compression, he put a compression tester and it shows only 20 compression...
Interestingly though, after all my plugs where changed and I drove it around a couple of blocks, my truck felt great! Way better than it ever did even when I purchased it 2 months ago?
How come you guys think I have no compression on Cylinder 2?

Did he do a wet compression test after the initial comp test? Also was he sure that he had the gauge hooked up right? My #2 cyl does not like to let the comp gauge thread in.
Also, if you only had 20psi on that cyl, it would most likely run pretty crappy.
You could rent a Comp tester from advanced or something and try it out yourself. Its really not that bad.
Forgot to ask. What engine? 22re, 3VZE??

Oops sorry about that, I should put my engine on my signature... 1993 4Runner 3.0 V 3VZE (aka 3.slo)..
OK, he did not do a wet test....
Also it ran great, it shook very little on stop, and a little applying the brake at the red light.. ?

Also, is it bad driving it like this? What is the worst that could happen? can I just drive it like these until I could afford to do something about it.. thanks!

I would double check that the compression is actually that low on the cyl. Are you sure he didn't say that cyl#2 was 20psi lower than the rest rather than just 20psi.
Only reason for the second guessing is that your truck wouldn't run great with one cyl at 20 psi. From my experience, it would run like crap.
Where are you located? Anywhere close to Iowa or Nebraska. I can't see a location on the mobile site.

Pretty sad cuz i didnt have really any problem with it, just wanted to give it a tune up

I hear you. I would say definitely do another comp test yourself to find out what is going on. Too bad you are not closer to me, I would look at it for you. As far as the hesitation goes, you could check for vacuum leaks or unmetered air getting into the throttle body. Maybe something was disconnected or bumped loose during the plug change.

I do have a compression tester, one I had for a 2 stroke boat I had (but same spark plugs)
But let me tell you that when you remove the cap from the rotor on #2 it doesnt make any change to the motor, like the rest of them, in other words, when I remove every spark plug wire from all the other cylinders, theres a huge difference in shaking and so forth.. but not on #2, no change whatsoever.
Unless it was always bad, and after I did the tune up and changed spark plugs it improved it dramatically, but it was always bad..
I called the guy I bought it from and he told me he just put a 94 motor in it, checked each hole, and it gave him 140 across the board... (he could be lying).
I guess I could test it again, Im just tired in removing spark plugs, ive been going crazy on my truck since last wednesday, finally gave up yesterday and went to a shop.
