heater temp control lever broke
So my heater temp control lever broke in my 88 4runner. It had been stiff to move the last few times I moved it from hot to cold. And finaly just broke. Aparantly it broke while in the cold position because now I have no heat. I have manually moved the valve on the firewall where the blue cable comes out but that made little or no difference. So does the temp control lever do something besides just move that valve?
I would prefer not to pull my dash apart if I dont have to, if there was a way I could just switch it to hot and leave it.

There are two lines on that. Not sure where the second line routes to offhand and can't view the video. Try the video or get up under there with a flash light and trace it down.https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post52052418

Ok I pulled my ashtray out so i could access the lever and cable connections. Sure enough there are two lines, I always figured it just had the blue cable that ran to the firewall. Problem solved, thancks

So where did the second one go? I also assumed there was just the one. My lever works, but there is still a bit of hot air coming through when I have it set all the way to cool. For those hot summer days, I'd like it to turn all the way off.

When I work the second cable your can hear a valve somewhere around the heater core opening and closing.
