92 3vze very sluggish at times

I have a 92 pickup ext cab 4x4 with a 3vze and a 5 speed. Has no power at low rpms sometimes. It will be about 2000 rpms and won't go then it will just take off and run fine for a little while and then do it again. This is my first Toyota and don't know to much about them and cannot figure this out. It helpful info would be great

It has about 25,000 since new heads were put on, bout 3,500 miles since new tps, plugs and wires and fuel pump and filter were changed. It just started doing this about 2 weeks ago and I can't figure it out

Sometimes it sounds like it is backfiring when u try to take off then it will just quit and run fine for a few minutes and then do it again then it will start running fine

EGR = Exhaust Gas Recirculation (or recirculator valve)That won't cause back/after fire, it causes no fire due to a screwed up air/fuel mixture.Just a guess but maybe your air vane is sticking. You'll want to try and be a little more clear about what is happening, is it or isn't it backfiring, exactly what "quits", what have you tested already..

Also my parents had similar issues backfire and sluggish off the line. I looked into it. It ended up being a cracked exhaust manifold. I think they have the 2.7 motor.
