headliner matting

not sure if any of you have seen the guy form texas selling reproduction headliners for 1st gen runner on ebay yet or not, but mines had a tear in it since i picked it up and its been on my to do list. decided to give him a try, heres the link to his ebay page.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/TOYOTA-4-RUN...AAAOSw4aRc~A40

the company is called GoLiners. the liners do not come with new bows so you need to reuse the oem ones. he promptly emailed me and got my info to verify the color I wanted which was nice, and even mailed me a few color samples to double check that the grey I wanted matched my 87 interior. guys name is Jim and told me he has sold quite a few of them. ill definitely do a review on here once I install it. my question for you guys is, the oem headliner has a kind of fiber matting between the cab roof and the vinyl, and the cut in my headliner also goes into that matting, not to mention its 32 years old and needs replacing anyways. does anyone know where to source something similar or should I just go with something like dynomat?

The fiber matting is glued to the bottom of the roof skin, it should not be adhered at all to the vinyl headliner.

So why do you want to replace that matting anyway?

short answer is, tear in headliner goes into the matting, bird flies into truck at night, bird picks at matting... matting tear went from small tear to holy ˟˟˟˟ what happened to your headliner.

Let that bird pick at this headliner mat...

I replaced the crumbling, dusty, messy headliner insulation with "Best Step" diamond-plate pattern anti-fatigue mat like I did with headliner on my cap.
