Headers installed, need help with blocking heat

depending on the warranty, you may void it if you wrap the headers. I bought some heat shield stuff from the parts store....sticky on one side, comes as a sheet about 24'' x 16'' ,cuts with scissors, and I was able to provide protection for the floor, brake lines, starter and wire harness (headers are on a 3.0).

Curious, how could wrapping headers void warranty? Your arent altering them in anyway, wrap is removable and doesnt damage the header. In fact, wrapping the header is only an improvement because its promotes proper heat flow through the header and will help prevent them from warping or rusting.

hmm well seems that doug thorley must use some very low grade metal if its "degrades and deteriorates" the header. Wrapping it wont trap moistures, it actually protects the header. Thats would be the same as if they said painting the header with high temp exhaust paint will void the warranty. Wrapping the header would only be beneficial. If it was so bad, they wouldnt sell it.
But what do i know, im just a metal worker, not a header manufacturer.
Another option of what you can do, is just what 92toy said, they have material that you can stick to your floor board thats alot like dynamat that will soak up and then dissipate heat.

Lots of places that make downpipes for turbo cars will not warranty it whenyou wrap them, they trap in heat and crack. Ceramic coating is best, then insulation on your floor...

Everyone who has done headers finds it cooks everything under the hood. Part of the issue is there is about 10 times the surface area, plus the metal is extremely thin compared to stock exhaust manifold.
I don't know that anyone has completely solved this issue...
