Headers Headache

My 1990 v6 had headers installed 16 or 17 yrs ago. Smog back then had no problems. Not so today! Parked for 15yrs till recently, went for a pre smog test & except for a couple miner things, the headers are a huge problem I'm told.. Tech informed me that the "visual" inspection failed & he looked for #s on the headers that if legal, would be on them.. So now I'm looking at taking them off & I'm in hopes someone could suggest to me what might be in comparison that's on the market? Thanx

Thats why I left that poop hole decades ago for Texas.
I can do whatever I want with my truck as long as it passes a basic safety inspection. ie lights, horn, and wiper work....

Google is your friend.
"site:yotatech.com 3vze carb legal headers"

Lots of threads cover this. You can always try to petition the ref that they are the same product just made prior to the carb cert number being required.

Yeah, that doesn't work, at all....... And is beyond rude.

The technician just works there. He or she doesn't make the rules. They just follow them.

That is like yelling at a cashier for something being overpriced when it is actually a team in the store's corporate offices that make the decisions on prices. The cashier has nothing to do with that.

How about suggesting something useful like this:
