Hey Lumpster,

I don't mean to be 'SO SERIOUS' right now... breaking up the 'special' party, lol... but just wondering, ...... did you do an OEM HG yet? Far as I know, of every argument/discussion/tutorial conversation I've read, regarding 22RE HG's, they've MOSTLY led to the 'professionals' saying that, "OEM is the way to go, period".

Of course, if you've had an OEM one blow out of these last 3 that you've mentioned.... well, then that answers my question, eh? lol. However, if not, wouldn't 1 OEM gasket cost less than, now, 4 other brand HG's?

BTW, are these all ROCK Brand?

PS> I know you said, "the HOLES ARE CLEAN!!!" lol...... but did you chase them really well to be sure? lol

Out of the H/G's that went 1 was OEM 2 were Rock from Engnbldr...Yes you are correct 1 OEM would be cheaper than 2 Rock or so... I ordered again from Engnbldr this time a Felpro which Ted recommended trying. It's harder than the Rock ones.

Yes the holes were cleaned/chased so they are good.

I really think this was due to a faulty t-stat that I let go too long. I think this one was my fault to be honest.

OOoooh, ...yeah, that could be why this one went... but what about the other 2? I really feel bad for ya, man, ....that REALLY stinks! People say I have pretty good patience, .....not so sure.....but YOU, man, MUST have VERY good patience, lol. Ok, I guess you must have some pretty decent 'restraint' as well, eh? lol. Tell me, did you throw anything at any time,... you know, like through a wall? hahaha. jk

Yes, patience, restraint yes, I work on computers!

Well this is how I think it goes.
1. Over heat from previous owner
2. I think the head was a warped head, when I did the first one I didn't get the head checked.
3. this one, I think it was an over heat.

With that said, it never got to the point of overheating, but it repeatedly for a month of getting really warm.

I had to behave I had my boy with me and we were 30 miles from home. Sooooo I had to be good.

I'll be driving it to my parents place so I can have a garage to work in this coming weekend. That's another 15+ miles, I think she'll make it.

Best wishes, Homie! lol. I think the appropriate song, regarding any gremlins that might decide to pop in and say "HERRO", ... would be ..... "LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR!" lol. Ahhhhhhhh, you'll get it, no doubt, hopefully quicker than you're planning!

Best wishes,

Mark

I can imagine you're ticked! Mehhhh, ... just let it go, man..... let it go! hahahaha. Jk, but no, really, I know what you mean. Especially since my dilemma(biggest mystery one) was caused by a machinist.... THAT I PAID! lol. 3 times, bro,.... I totally can see why you've HAD IT, lol.

Update...Going to replace all vac lines while I'm in there this time.
XXX is sending me the exhaust doughnuts
Gasket kit should be here right quick like

I do have a question for ya...I need to know exactly where a few lines go. I have gone over some diagrams and 92 send me a pic but I'm still not sure if I have them right.

1. From the canister to where
2. From the EGR under the pass side intake goes where
3. FPR goes where
4. The lil valve thingy on the top back of the valve cover (I think I have this one right)

I know the first 3 gave me issues and not sure if I have them right or not and I've changed them around a time or two. I just need verification. Thanks!!!

I'll dig up some good pics for ya. Might even have a video. However, the fuel Pressure regulator vacuum goes to the port on the VSV(vacuum thingy on the back/top of valve cover) that is angled at 90*(pointing toward the pass. fender). The other vacuum on the VSV goes to the 3 Port Filter on the Plenum(should be black).

I'll double check on the rest, just to be sure for ya. K? BBASAP.
