I'm doing the head gasket on an 87 4runner and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what brand of gasket to use?

I've always used toyota oem head gaskets but have noticed that there are a number of aftermarket replacements available also. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with another brand that is better than oem (or just as good and cheaper...)?

 

I had my valves adjusted on my old engine and it was a 22RE.. What engine are you running? I went with a Felpro RUBBER gasket instead.. was reasonably affordable..

I dont believe the 3.0 was made until 88.... Prior to that, was the 22rte or ret (not sure which) but the 3.0 replaced the 22rte. As much as I love my 3.slow, i would def have prefered a turbo 4.
