hate the crankshaft pulley

I just speant all morning trying to get to and get off the crankshaft pulley. just got back from autozone with a new breaker bar because the head of mine exploded. Any other crank shaft pulley experiences.

I have a 900 ft/lb impact gun...... comes off every time.

I wish i had that. I'll hopefully be buying a decent air compresspr next month but for now I gotta do it the hard way.

Disconnect the distributor wires, put a 19mm or 3/4" socket on the bolt, use a 1/2" drive or larger breaker bar, put an extension of stout pipe/tube on the end of it, at least 24", set it up so its under the passenger-side frame rail, bump the starter- BOOM! its loose...

I've done that once before but I already have the oil pan off so i don't really want to turn the engine.

It's not like your cranking it for ever.
Even with the pan off, I would.
There's enough residual oil in the bearing surfaces to last for the split second crank.
It'll do maybe 1 rotation, if that.


Or you can be stubborn and chalk the wheels, put it in 5th in 4 hi and try to take it out with a breaker bar by hand.

I tried that with my 22re... WHAT A PITA!! Didnt get it loose. So i did the starter trick.

You could also remove the EFI fuse.
