Normal right hand thread as I recall. I use a breaker bar with a 6-sided 19mm impact socket on the head of the bolt, bar jammed against the frame and hit the starter (coil wire disconnected) to break mine loose:

I tried the in 5th gear, emergency brake, and blocked wheels to no avail. Tried the 1/2 inch impact and split the impact socket. Put the engine on a stand and split a 1/2 inch drive 19 mm socket with a breakover bar. Thinking about a cutting torch.

Took me 3 days to get mine off. Broke a socket and my 1/2 in breaker bar. There's lots to search on this.

Mine took me 2 days. 1 day of screwing around trying different things. The impact gun did not work. The breaker bar did not work. The started trick did not work.

I ended up using a propane torch and heated the bolt as close to the center it as passable for 15 to 20 mins then used the impact gun. Popped right out then.

Put it back togethor and was ok. Oil pumps crap on mine now. This time the starter trick worked the 1st try, even with 24 hours of dry time on the locktight.

I have used this tool for 10 years on dozens of crank and cam bolts and it has always worked great. Attach this tool to the crank and use a 3' piece of pipe on the breaker bar and you should get it off.

Take care,

Bugs
