so i have a 89 v6 3.0 and i got it rebuilt because it went in water. the wire going to my starter went bad so i put a push butten. but now its hard to start. i have gotten it running and when it does it runs fine. i can turn it off and turn and all that jazz. but it seems that if i leave it like over night it is hard to start back up. i dont know whats wrong with it and im in need of help big time. thanks ahead

Hows your battery?
If it starts fine after its been ran for a little but won't start the next day you may have a charging problem, so your battery is struggling to start it.

When the key turns, it activates the starter and Circuit Opening Relay (COR) which in turn makes the pump run. If you wired a push-button in to start the truck, and did not put it in parallel with the existing wiring, the fuel pump will not operate while cranking, causing difficulty starting... at least until the engine spins fast enough for the AFM to activate the COR.
If you run a wire from the pushbutton to the appropriate wire from the ignition switch, everything should be okay.
edit- If I'm reading the wiring diagram properly, the 89 V6 should be a solid black wire from the ignition.
