hard brake line woes
picked up a 91 v6 4x4 ext cab and the brake lines are rotted in several places..have a few questions:
i have a 1990 2wd reg cab 22r parts truck, are these lines the same? fittings, tube diameter etc?
anyone ever purchase pre bent lines from the dealer? if so, how much do they go for?
and for those who ever made their own, do you know what size straight tubes i would need to replicate each tube?
thanks in advance!

it'd probably be a hell of a lot cheaper to buy a coil of line, some flare fittings, and a flare fitting tool. and that way you'd have extra line and fittings and the right tool to fix brake lines in the future.

The hardlines on my '88 rusted through about 5 years ago, right above the gas tank. I replaced both of the front-to-rear lines with OEM pre-bent ones. They were about $30 each from the dealer.

My local Auto Zone had straight lines with various fittings. Marked Import, Domestic, European, etc.
They all are 3/16" line, but very in flare style and threading. Bring in a soft line from your vehicle and match it up. From memory, it's 10x1mm. The flare is specific to Toyota (maybe Nissan also)
Cost was cheap, but you are limited to the pre-cut lengths they sell. I had to ask the parts guy and he just let me go in the back and look through them all to find the ones I needed. I don't think if you ask them to look for them in the computer database they will show up.
