how tough is it to install a 2in add a leaf kit on an 86 4runner? i haven't done anything to my truck before and its completely stock (except for the radio!!!!)

AAL's are quite simple to install. Find a write up and take your time. The big deal is going slow to avoid the pack coming apart and making sure the centering pin is aligned.

30X9.5 (or are they30X10.5???) are tire sizes, not rim sizes.

I have an 86 and bought An AAL from Rancho for $145(RAN 60622). It came with two leafs for each side and gave me the option of adding just one or two. One will give 1 1/2-2 in lift and both will it appears to be an inch more. With both the ride is definitely firmer but not too harsh. It took about 4-5 hours by the time you get both tires off and on jack stands and wrestle with stubborn nuts. Air tools would have helped speed things up I'm sure but not really necessary. No special tools required just the appropriate sockets and wrenches. Be sure to torque all nuts when putting it all back together.

Difficulty rating I would say 2 out of 5 stars.

By the way I am running Michelin LTX A/T 235/75 15
