Got a new toy

Well I had a 88 truck for roughly a year after rolling my other 88 truck. But i eventually grew bored of it and its tiny cab so today I bought a 95 4runner. I was just wondering how many people own one of these and go offroading in them. Do they do very good, will it perform as good as my truck? Ill have pics tomorrow.

I had a '94 'runner and it did well. It was my nicer ride so I never did the "hard core" stuff like I do in my pickup. I can say though the 'runner loves to lift the front tires, due to the weight in the back. My truck as you probably know from yours is so light back there that the front usally stays on the ground.

Yah so far Im being nice to it, its the nicest vehicle Ive owned so I dont know how much I wanna go off roading. And as of now the previous owners cranked up the torsion bars so the front sits a bit higher then the rear so Im going to just get a little 1'' coil spring spacer and see how it looks. My 88 often had the back tires off the ground alot under heavy angles. So far my plans are to get a wood grain dash kit and a good exhaust system with some minor intake mods. I want to keep it pretty much stock with just a little more gas mileage/horsepower addons.

t-bars do look cranked but it looks like it also suffers from saggy ass syndrome. Get some spacers or different springs back there and it'll level it out nicely. Other than that.. looks good! Welcome to yotatech!

Personally, I am not a big fan of the wood grain dash, but that is just personal preference.

That is a nice looking rig. How much did you pay for it?

4rnrs kick ass even as a stock machine. all depends on the terrain. if you are out east where we have more mud and some hills they do great.
my 93 4rnr is my hunting machine and we get some serious ruts and mud late in the season
I do not have a rear locker ( yet)but with the 4rnrs small size I can scoot through bad sections where a larger truck would have to run the ruts
I have 31"BFG AT's. I do wish I bought the mud terrains for when it gets sloppy but haven't been stuck yet

the best vehicle I've owned yet in my lifetime (this is # 13). my new lucky #. I got a 95 with 80k on it and bought it for 2k. there aggressive lookin', they last forever, and great for throwing anything in there (lumber, doors, patio furniture, an infant, you name it). when i bought it, I found out it never even had a tune up 11 years later. it still had all the original plugs and all...at stock this truck comes with a height no other brand new trucks today have at stock. thats why I can say I'm staying overall at stock height. you've done good...Good Luck!

yep, I agree
mine is staying mostly stock except for the Downey coils that were installed today
I could easily fit 33's in there now with no problems

I don't think ProComp makes a 33x10.50 .... but that is an AWESOME size tire for our trucks. I don't have ANY rubbing with mine at stock height.

I have the Eibach rear springs - leveled it out nicely. Kinda wish I had gone with the trdparts4u lift though (check the vendor section)

Yah I went offroad a little yesterday and kept thinking I was going to get stuck cause of the running boards but it did really well. A lot smoother then my old truck. Paid 5k for it, has brand new A/C parts.
