Good compression - losing coolant through #6 cyl

Head gasket replaced 5k ago.

Compression: 1-180; 2-175; 3-180; 4-175; 5-180; 6-180

Spark plugs removed, I can see coolant misting through #6 spark plug hole when the starter is engaged.

Where can this coolant be coming from, without affecting compression? I do see steam in my exhaust, more when it's just started - already warm or cold...

Red face

How much coolant have you added ??

Seems like you have a leaking intake manifold

valves are sealing fine and the rings so good compression numbers

Do a Coolant system pressure test

Thanks - forgot to mention. I did a coolant leak down test and it would gradually lose pressure while static. When I turned the engine over with spark plugs in - no increase in pressure. I suppose this also leads to intake man and or cracked head (upper intake side).

Any suggestions on the intake man? Take it off, inspect and put it back on with new gaskets? Should I have it magnifluxed?

the intake gasket is a common fail point on all vehicles. rest assured its probably just that. rip it off and confirm.

I found an exposed 3.0 intake at the JY today. It would be great if it was just the gasket, but it seems a stretch that water could leak into #6, with a bolt in between from a bum gasket. I'd think the valley would be the first to see an intake gasket leak. See attached pic.

the bolt is probably the problem. they usually go into the water jacket and cause the issue themselves.
u saw coolant right? u sure it wasnt fuel haha?
its more likely a gasket than a crack.

Gotcha. I'll borrow a flexi-camera to feed down the #6 intake to try to learn more before I tear into it.
