Yeah, if a cop pulls you over for that, they are just being a jerk...but even if they did, I doubt you would actually get a ticket for it..I mean it is sturdy, and it works, and it is really your only option...

I would carry a new set of wiper blades with you just in case something gets fubarred on one so it doesn't scratch it and also maybe paint your rivets or whatever you used black so you don't draw too much attention to it as far as cops..

Just got over mt. Hood, all I can say is this windshield is amazing!! With all the crap being flung on my window from the roads being plowed and de-iced I thought for sure I would have a few scratches. There are no scratches on the window at all, it cleaned up perfect just using the wipers and sprayers. I got stuck behind a semi truck at one point and a ton of nasty water and sand was flying on my window so I let it sit just to see what would happen, the stuff beaded off without even using the wipers.
After the initial thaw in the morning the windshield never fogged up even though all of the side windows did. I had a few rocks hit the windshield and although they were loud as hell, they didn't leave a mark. I am very glad a normal window didn't fit.
I looked on the website for the place I got the polycarbonate from and this stuff is supposed to be the closest material to glass you can get while being much stronger and safer. The abrasion coating also protects it from uv rays and chemicals like window wash. Also googling I found that the only reason this isn't used as windshields by vehicle manufacturers is because it is so expensive compared to glass.

Not sure yet, I may start with a tan camo paint job. I think I'll probably keep changing it now and then. I would love to do a high viz orange camo like you see on the hunting vests with orange gray and black but that may be a little bright! I may even let my brother do what he wants with his air brush skills like he did on my bumper. It's probably just gonna be one of those "ehh, I'm bored let's paint the runner type of deals". If I feel like spending the money I might bed liner the whole thing, but that would be the last paint job it gets.
I also have some pics from my trip over the mountain I'll post up. We found a forestry tanker with a cool camo paint job that I can use as inspiration.

Thought I would update anyone still wondering how this thing is holding up. I just got back from camping so here are some pics of the beast from the last 6 months.
After the drive over the mountain, windshield still perfect

Camping trip

That's my buddy brett, his new Tacoma got pretty scratched by trees on the tight trails but I had no worries with my rig. Best part of the roll over is that there's nothing to lose now!! I still gotta get my winch plate made up for the inside of my bumper so I can install my winch, I'm just not looking forward to all the work.

The GF rolled my Runner!
Looking at the blue book it says my runner is only worth about $2300!!?? That's with the tires and all the goods? Knowing from experience I doubt I will get much more than that for this thing. Its pretty crazy because I couldn't even buy one on craigslist for that much? I guess I'll just have to wait to hear from the insurance company and see if they're going to base what my truck is worth off of KBB or off of what theyre going for in my area. I'm sure it will be what ever is the cheapest they can find......

They know when they have a vehicle with upgrades on it and will usually up the price for it. Mine had a lift and nice wheels and was in good shape, that's why the guy was happy I was only wanting $3000 for it and was more than happy to cut the price down to buy it back.

$2800 dosnt go far when you got student loans and a newer car lol. The only reason my girl was driving the runner in the first place was because I had a new car. I wish I could have afforded to drop the money into a supercharger for the car but I couldn't. I spent the money on new parts to get the runner going again and the rest went into savings.

just teasing.
