gas tank question

ok guys
same story, headed to south america this december, getting the 4runner all dolled up and ready.

it has a 13 gal tank right now and on ebay i can buy the 17 gal tank for right at 150 with shipping. any red flags with those tanks or is this is a straightforward swap out swap in?

Also if yes, what else should I go ahead and replace/refresh while I have that tank off?

Thanks guys

Elliott

better check on the measurements to make sure you have the room.

take an extra fuel pump etc.

Fuel lines, or at least a way to repair them if they corrode / break may be a good investment over what ocdropzone says. A few sets of spark plugs, timing light, etc.
What I've heard is that they're up on high percentage ethanol blends and our trucks don't like them- ethanol attracts water, water causes rust (well that's not exactly the chemical reaction that takes place but anything other than stainless hard lines tends to deteriorate rather rapidly).

your best bet is a http://www.nwmp.com/fueltanks.asp accessory tank ... plumbs right in fits awesome .
I had one for years and loved it .. Downey also sells them .

I'll be building my own this time though , as there pricing is just stupid !!
