Getting ready to change out my fuel pump. Does anybody have any tips? Just ordered pump and strainer from rockauto.com. I am having trouble finding the sending unit. Anybody got a link for me? yeah my truck was just driving down the road and it quit on me. Not sure what the problem is but the fuel pump has been acting sketish. and the fuel gauge dont work anymore so I figured I would do them both. Any tips would be appreciated.

the sending unit/pump hanger is a bitch to find. i had to order mine from the dealer vs. pulling a 22 yr old part out of a junkyard(especially fuel related). i would replace all fuel filters while youre at it. If its a 22re the fuel filter is right above the starter on the passenger side, you will need to take the passenger tire off to get to it.

 

Yeah Sorry 87 4runner dlx 22re, planning on doing the filter too. I thought I found the sending unit on here one day. just cant find it again. Thanks again for the help.

 

Is it OEM Denso? If not, I wouldn't bother with it....
