fuel pump question...
is the OE fuel pump in my 1991 22re made by toyota or bosch? i'm thinking it needs to be replaced again considering it starts ok then coughs and slowly dies while driving it.now it wont even start. a carter was put in a few years ago but i dont think their worth much. so should i stick with toyota or is a bosch decent.trying to save a buck but replacing fuel pump isnt something i want to do every 2 years. the original one lasted me about 16 years! and thats when i replaced the fuel filter too,in 2006 i think.what else should i consider? does the injector time switch that controls the cold start injector affect how she runs after warm up?what about the tps? would that affect starting or dieing after running fine then sputters out?and what about the regulator vs the fuel pump?if the regulator was bad would it work occaisionally?i did check fuses and relays seem ok,but if those were bad she wouldnt start at all.thanks,i'll be back soon,D.

Toyota makes very few parts, if any. Just major body stampings and some fuel tanks. The rest come from suppliers. So, if you wanted an OE fuel pump you would need to find who the OE supplier to Toyota was.

Most Toyota engine parts and replacement parts are made by Denso or Aisan, these are very high quality parts and what i use on my 4Runner. I personaly wouldn`t put anything Bosch on any of my vehicles, because in my opinion its junk.
