fuel pump bracket
New guy here with a question. I have the opportunity to buy a 92 reg cab 4x4 with 22re in relly nice shape for $500. The owner tells me the only thing wrong with it is the fuel line rotted off at the tank. Im in PA and the truck came from Cali a few years ago so the body and frame are really nice. My question is will a tank/ pump bracket from a 95 runner work in it? I searched and didn't really find an answer. Thanks guys.

No it will not work as a direct fit.
The runner tank is useless for the pickup however you can use the mounting bracket. What you must do is cut the mounting bracket off the pickup and weld it on the base plate of the runners bracket. That's exactly what I did. You can also buy a completely new tank for 110.00 bucks shipped. The bracket cost about 200.00 bucks. Both are still available tho so for a 500.00 you'd have about 900 in it when finished I'd say do it. If its in that good of shape you best buy it. I'm in WV and these things are getting harder to find everyday

I have a mig so I may do that. I was planning on reselling the truck for a profit so I'm not really feeling the new one from the dealer. I know what you mean about being scarce. I have a 92 extracab and have yet to see one in the junkyard.

You should definitely swoop that. Even with 1000-1500 into it with new tank/bracket you'll make a nice profit. I bought my runner for 800 have 1200 into it and could still make 1500 profit. If i didn't fall I'm love with it that is haha. Are you sure That's all that's wrong with it? Or are you sure it rusted out. Maybe the hoses just rotted out. If it's just the tank/bracket 100% swoop it. I just dropped my tank and cleaned it it's quite simple.

You people making these huge profits at what labor rate per hour do you bill when figuring out your net profit??
It should be on problem to just put another fuel pump bracket in the tank unless the tank itself is starting to rust.

1994 Toyota 4x4 extended cab 3.0
Bought for $700.00
I replaced tranny and clutch $350.00 and $149.99
Torsion bars $300.00
Alignment $39.99
And several other things $500.00
Labor at $50.00/hr. $700.00
That's roughly $2800.00
I sold the truck for $5000.00 to a boy in VA
That's a net profit of $2200.00
I'd say I was closer to making $1500.00 after I'd include all my fuel and travel time sourcing parts. However I do all work myself so technically I do not have a labor rate but I try to figure $50.00 per hour when I try to add up my profit.
Here's the truck

Sorry for hijacking

No problem. I went and looked at the truck last night and im not sure if the profit margin is there that i want. Truck is a little rough and needs a little more than expected.

Why not just rebuild the pump bracket? I did it with 1 piece of 3/8 brake line, and 2 5/16 pieces of brake line. Plenty of threads on here about it.
ETA: I've done this on 2 runners, and 2 p/u's now.... the bracket from a p/u can be swapped for one from a runner, and visa versa.... The tanks on other hand hand dont match.
pix or it didnt happen

The jb weld was only used to help seal up any holes from the welds... I never once had a leak in 4 years of driving after this repair to my 91 p/u...
