Fuel Filter Recommendation

Fuel Filter Recommendation
Hello,
I'm having some power issues with my 1987 22R and I think I want to do the basics (air filter and oil filter) before I troubleshoot this further.
Can anyone recommend a good fuel filter for replacement? I have an order going from Rockauto...

I have also attached a photo of my current OEM one.
Thanks. 1987 22R OEM Fuel Filter

Compare with OEM from Toyotapartsdeal.com

Even though I use the OEM Toyota filters, I don't think you can go wrong with a Wix fuel filter.

If they make this fuel filter as well as their oil filters, you should have no problems with it.
For reference, the OEM filter is made by Kyosan, at least for 22R carbureted applications.
OEM part Number: 23300-34100, FILTER ASSY, FUEL

Thanks for the recommendations. After some more research, I decided to go with OEM even though it might cost a few more bucks... They call it a lifetime part (~100,000 miles) and my truck is at 110k.
Fingers crossed.

So once I do get the fuel filter, a couple questions about installation... Do I need to undo the gas cap to relieve pressure in the system? How do I know which is the incoming and outgoing ports on the filter? If anyone has any other recommendations on the process, I'd be grateful. I think it looks straightforward but I don't want to screw it up.
Thanks in advance.

Only thing I would say is yes you can remove the fuel cap to release pressure then put cap back in place before removal. Also make sure your engine is not hot and you do it in a well ventilated space with no open flames nearby. No smoking! fuel is going to get everywhere and on everything so have plenty of rags just in case.
