Front grill and Headlight Question

HAs anyone here tried replacing the front grill and sealed beam headlights on a 89 - 95 PU with the flush headlights and grill from a 92 - 95 4runner.

I haven't taken a close look yet. Are they interchangeable. Anyone got any pics. Thanks.

do a search! This topic is covered about once a week.

No, without serious modification, this is not possible. You will have to replace the core support to make it work. Besides, 4runner headlights are much more expensive to replace when a rock hits them.

Ok thanks. That's all I wanted to know. I didn't search because I can't ever recall seeing a thread about it before. Once a week, eh?

yeah dude. You wanna change your grill and headlights? I did 2 so i did. Swap that ancient sealed beam technology for bulb clear lenses .. then play w/your grill. You can throw a mesh on top like i did (wanted a custom emblem) or cut out the existing plastic and put in a billet setup. it can be done, but i wouldn't mess w/the runner swap. just not worth it to me.

Ya thanks. I've already changed out the sealed beams. I was just curious to see if the fronts were interchangeable. I assumed they weren't since you don't ever see it.

I'm not interested in modifying my whole front end just for looks. If it was a bolt on affair I might have considered it. I've got better things to waste my time on though. Cheers.

well, perhaps not once a week exactly, but its a question that comes up quite often.

And usually elicits incorrect responses of "sure it can, same truck!" and "yea, bolt it up!" which are completly wrong.
