Front Diff. Question

I have a 93 truck with IFS and ADD that I have converted to manual lockouts. The problem now is both front axles have alot of slop top to bottom in them. How bad is it to rebuild? I know bearings are expensive and I am wondering if it will fix it at all,maybe the axles are wore to bad. Is it worth it,or is it easier to just find another front diff that is in good shape.

Don't understand what you mean ... you mean the CV axles have play or the wheel or ... ?

front diff

Yes the Cv axles have play in them where they connect to the front diff on each side.

Honestly, with so many people doing SAS to these trucks you can get an entire unit for less than you can get one CV for if you find the right person...

I just got an entire front from a guy in CA that had a recent 5.29 install in it shipped all the way to Florida for $150. If you need a stock front you can probably find it for $0-75 if you look around.

Check the classified section here, on pirate 4x4, and TTora and you'll find what you need soon enough.

I took my front differential to Randy's Ring and Pinion for a gearing swap and they told me that believe it or not this was normal. After their rebuild it was slightly more tight but still a little sloppy. So as far as I know that's just how they are. It seems to drive just fine, even going fast in 4wd.
