After looking at the pics, Shouldn't the bearing be flat against the fork instead of on them clips?

The pic of the clip is from the first installation. After I fixed them on the second pull they sit further down (pushed further onto the fork tips). I got them to fit better.

But some folks said they dont even have them! ... so i dunno lol

I'll take loads more pics on todays pull.

Must figure this out! !! !

SUCCESSS.. ok so my buddys dad the soon to be retired mech helped me today. He told me to drop the tranny then he'd swing back by, first he thought the bearing wasnt catching on the springs because i greased it's face
..

brake cleaned it, nope.. not it.

so i dropped the tranny in a record 30 minutes!.. im gettin good.

by the time he came over i'd figured out the issue, the clips on the forks were on backwards and the shaft the throwout bearing slips onto was catching back n forth hitting the fork. perfect replication of the sound, he agreed and checked over the clutch, flywheel and pressure plate and pilot bearing as well as throwout etc said it was all perfect and normal

helped me get it back in about 20 mins, another record... for me haha

solved. 4 hrs later it was in my driveway ..

new problems, cracked radiator and exhaust leak at the manifold, yay.. haha

anyways, i dont know how you guys dont run those clips on the fork....

maybe its this setup.. i dunno, but the clips were important!

Congrats on getting the problem solved. Without hearing the sound its difficult to have an accurate diagnosis. Also pictures can be pretty vague, looks ok but different story seeing it in person. As far as running without the clips, They basically hold the t.o. bearing in place while installing the trans. After it's in place the pressure plate will keep it in place against the fork.

I dunno, it wasn't able to budge with the clips in place and the sound went away almost completely. Could be part the clips, or maybe more part break in... and the clips just speed the process up by holding it firm

hell i dunno, all i know is i pulled the tranny 3 times and now the sounds gone and the clutch works great =)
