first time run after a rebuild and break in

90 22RE, remanufactured top and bottom, Yeah the machinest used assembly lube when he built it, but I want to be sure the engine is lubed completely before I FIRE IT UP. I poured the new oil in from the head and installed a full oil filter. Be nice if I could fill the pick up tube and prime the oil pump too. Do you folks have any ideas about this? Thanks eh, Me

The oil pump is driven off the the crank shaft so you cant spin it up with a drill like some other engines. Some people prime the oil pumps with vasoline, but not worth the disassembly if it wasnt done. I would pull the plugs out and crank it over in short burst untill you have pressure on your guage then put plugs back in and go for it.

Yep. Pull EFI fuse, remove spark plugs so it's easier on your starter and so your engine will spin faster, then turn and hold the key to "start" and let the engine turn over until you have oil pressure on your gauge (My 3.0L took approx 5 to 6 seconds) Then, re-install fuse and spark plugs, and fire it up.
