Aside from the bucket seats, what indication is there that it's a SR5?

I'm wondering if those seats weren't swapped in, given their condition and the high miles.

Besides, who options SR5 but keeps the steel wheels?

(yeah yeah, the wheels could have been swapped, too)

I have heard that the map pockets on the doors is an sr5 thing and also having a tach, also the original owner is very easy on all of his stuff and I was told that only basic maintainence has been done on this 4runner, Also assuming this is an 89 the sun/moonroof with removable shade was only available on the sr5

and you still don't know what year it is.

you, young man have nerves of steel. I would have been there, that night, copying the VIN and then going on every on-line parts place making a Christmas list.

You are killing me.

I'm sorry about not getting back out to where it has been sitting, but saturday we will all know

Let's get a generic poll going here, What year do you all think it is?

Just because the guy I'm getting it from told me it was an 88 first, I'm sticking with it

My vote, 88

too funny.. I've been watching this thread over the last few days. Good luck man.. and welcome to the fold.

I'm pretty sure I'm picking up a 1999 Taco today. I sold my 4Runner over a year ago and haven't been the same since.

OK so it's an 87, it was painted a while back and those must be the graphics they slapped on it, Now It's just trying to figure out how to get her to start, put some gas in her and gas gauge doesn't move at all and she fires every now and then for about ½ a second

If I take off the intake to get to the injectors do I have to replace any gaskets?

Ok unless the vehicles was specail order theres alot SR5 features. If it was an 85-87 SR5 it had an inclinometer/altimeter, other wise all other years: chrome bumpers, power windows, power locks, power antena, clock, power mirrors, sunroof, cloth multi adjusable seats, bucket seats, SR5 aluminum alloy wheels, chrome steel wheels, decals on the side..... so yea there you go.

But theres alot of trucks that had diff options due to some people wants this and not wanting that....... they alot times were specal ordered SR5 without power windows.... or with out A/C ..... so yea...
