FILTHY fuel injectors

Removing the heads from my 89 pu w/ 3.0L, and when I removed the fuel injectors from the heads, the plastic boot that the injector sits in was disgusting. covered in dirt and grime, inside and out. Removed all injectors from boots, cleaned everything as much as possible (pretty damn clean). Just wondering if there is anything else I should do for these injectors, if not replace them altogether while im in there. The motor has 320 k on it. Im also considering replacing the water pump now too, as it looks like fun to get at starting from scratch... Any recomendations, ideads, help grealy appreciated. thanx in advance

If the injectors are out, and in your hand, you may want to consider getting them profesionally cleaned.

There are some online sources, but you may find some local companies in your area. A thorough cleaning will help all injectors fire similiar amounts of fuel, and result in a lot of good things happening.

I had mine cleaned at a local diesel (big rig) service center. They were able to provide new orings and such. Probably cost in the $100 to $150 range total.

Might ask about the cold start injector getting cleaned as well.

I just got a call from Witchhunter Performance who just completed my injector servicing.

Very reasonable prices and quick turnaround. Not to mention a really nice guy.

Highly reccomonded.

If you choose him, tell him Robin sent you.
