Factory Fuel Pump??

I installed my Denso fuel pump today. The old one was noisy and the check valve seems bad since it will not hold pressure in the system after the rig shuts down. I fortuantely got passed the almsot stripepd out flare fitting, then when i pulled it up I found the filter to be covered with clay I didnt drop the tank to clean it but i think i will eventually have to get it cleaned out, it was nasty. Oh Well the install went fine but I am curious to know if the factory fuel pump was this unit.

The Denso was much larger than the old one. It was nice to have a quiet fuel pump again. No real tech here, jsut curious about the fuel pump.

The fuel pump in my 86 4Runner looks like the larger one in your picture, Ive never seen one like the smaller pump before, its either an original fuel pump or someone has swapped it out with another pump that they made work.

I am thinking it is aftermarket, since the flared fuel line connections was becoming stripped before i even touched it.

Did the flared fuel line fittings look like it had been removed before (rounded edges) ?, because there put on there tight from the factory. I had to replace the gas tank on my 86 4Runner because the slosh pan in the bottom of the tank had broken loose, and when i went to disconnect the fuel lines it took two pairs of vise grips and everything i had to break them loose.
