factory 4.88 help

factory 4.88 help

ok ive looked around and i just want to clairify what ive read i wanted to put lockers in my 94 truck but i have factory 4.88 gears. i was told that it wont work but then i read you could put them in the front only and not the rear is this true also i heard that only a arb will fit only. if any fit that you know of wich ones will

did you only install the front or both fron and rear? also just for the sake of asking you have a v6?

ARB's will fit in a OEM 4.88

How did you get 4.88s stock? My SR5 w/ 31"s came with 4.56s

I've changed the rear to a 4.88, but am still looking for a front 3rd w/ a 4.88.

the ones that came with 4.88's were auto's, the ones with 4.56's are manual's

the factory 4.88 rear carrier is the same as the rest of the truck carriers. ARB, Lockright, Detroit...They'll all fit. The only thing you can't do (easily) is change the ring and pinion.
