Exterior/Interior Designes
Ok, heres what I've got. 89 4Runner SAS 5" lift with 33" tires(plenty of flex) 4.88 gears with E locker front and rear, brand new engine and A/T. Now that the mechanical is done on my daily driver/expedition rig, I'm looking for ideas for exterior paint scheems and interior ideas(trying to get rid of that god awful red).
Right now I would like to go with a fire engine red exterior with a bed liner paint over the common scratch and dint parts of the truck and on the fiberglass top. I've seen the bed liner on the bottom part of these trucks in the past, but I want to take it from the hood and grill down the bottom part of the fender and rocker panels and over the back quarter panel and aournd the bottom 1/4 of the tailgate. I also want to do the area around the tail lights(from the natural line in the behind the back side window on the top straight down and around to the tailgate) in bed liner.
Now that I've said all of that I would like to ask this. Has anyone seen a fiberglass top that has been hercu/rhino lined, and has anyone seen the back wrap around in hercu/rhino liner?
I would also like to ask if anyone has any reconmmendations on a good vinyl dye? I've been looking at SEM in a nice satin black. Has anyone had any experience changing their interior over to a non OEM color?
Sorry for making you read all that and thanks in advance for any pics, tips, and ideas. Oh, and I'll be sure to post pics as I start making progress over the next several months.

My buddy has a samurai with a fiberglass hard top that he rhino lined and it turned out very well. I've considered doing it to my truck cap.
I think it looks great.

Thanks for the input, can you get me a pic of your friends truck so I can see how it looks?
"how about some go-fast-green... it's what all the kids are doing nowadays"
If you're talking about the tire paint...I'll pass.

Ironically, I might be able to help you out on both fronts.
About two years ago iI painted my entire rig in spray on bedliner.. top to bottom... turned out well! I used a lesser known brand called Mortons truck bed guard (mainly cause it was hella cheap), thinned it 15% and sparyed it with a basic HVLP gun.
As for interior, i gutted it all, and painted almost everything that was gray with Duplicolor's vinyl and fabric paint http://www.duplicolor.com/products/vinyl.html
You can find it at pepboys/autozone/whatever... just make sure u prep well...
Best pic i have of interior... You can kinda see the dash and door panel. Dont bash the attempted racer look.. i started it years ago when I was in High school

lmao, well, not quite that particular shade of green that color green doesn't look too bad
I was referring to the lighter, brighter, obnoxious green color, lol
but, you've got the "paint everything I can see" scheme down

Sorry, I kinda hi-jacked the thread....only advice I can give is obviously from the responses.....DONT paint the interior green! The P.O did this to the truck and now I will have to fix it. I like black, any good paint to recommend for interior?

I just noticed that he even got the green shock covers to line up with the frame. just about everything above the bottom of the frame is green and anything below it is fair game for a different color
