Exhaust write up: Flowmaster 50

I needed a muffler to pass inspection so I ordered a delta 50 2.25 Inlet/Outlet.

Kept 1 7/8's stock pipe from cat to muffler because the bends were nice and it was in good shape. I welded on the muffler (my first welds ever) and welded on a drop down, but oriented it 'vertically' so the drop down exited towards the back of the rear tire, not down on the axle. That may not have been necessary, but I liked the muffler oriented in the y plane instead of the x plane because it fits better and I used the stock hangers.

The sound is good, Not overpowering but definitely noticeable. I was totally stunned by how much low-end I picked up. I mean the truck is still nutless, but there are many hills that I can now go up in third that I used to have to hit in 2nd. I think the fact that the gains seam to really be from 1.5 to 2 rpms is because I kept the 1 7/8 pipe but ran it into a free flowing muffler with a very large short exit.

Pics to come my G/F is in FL til tuesday with her camera.

you said the truck is nutless... you're obviously excluding the driver, right?
