o2 sencor question any input welcome

My 1988 toyota pickup has a duel exaust but when they put it on they did not put on a new o2 sencor. so what exactly does it do? Because my truck is fine when idoling but when put in 2wd it will not pull at all 4low it will pull not very well. If I advance the timing to a sertain point it runs somewhat better but still will hardly pull 2wd but it gets better please help
i can not find the wires to install a new o2 sancor is there any way to ower ride or cancel out the o2 sencor signal

On the Oregon coast up in lincoln city
what are the four wires going to the o2 sancor doing because I found the only wires going back by the exaust but they are on the passenger side and there is only two wires not four and i have searched and searched but can not find the missing two wires or any other wires for that matter.

should be white and blue, and two black.
The black are heater wires, which serve to warm the O2 sensor up faster than the engine can and make the sensor usable sooner.
the other two are the signal wires back to the O2.
