Exhaust tips???

ok i found a hedman header and its tha cheapest i have found header wise for the 22re. I was wondering if they would do fine cause they had 1.5in mains and 2.5in outlet. Also i was wondering what preference most had on a muffler for the 4 banger. I hate the ricer sound but i realize that to a degree it will have that tone but was just wondering what everyone was using on these trucks. Thanks alot.

From your title I thought you wanted info on a nice little screw on chrome tip LOL. Might want to edit your title.

I just put a thorley header with a cat and stock muffler on a stock 22RE. Runs nice and its quiet.

oh im sorry i just noticed that but i dont know how to change it. See im on a budget and dont really want to pay 350 for a header. Im looking at low end stuff. I am mainly wanting to know about mufflers. I dont want stock but i dont want a ricer sound. I like the way the glasspacks sound when there is about 2.5in pipe all the way back but also would like to get something not quite as loud as that.

well his title states..exhaust tips..which could mean little ghey screw on chrome tips..or he could want tips on his exhaust..LOL yes the title s misleading..

1.5" mains and 2.5" collector should be just fine!..run a 2.25" exhaust (or 2.5" if you want a deeper sound) and run it through like a 14" magnaflow...or maybe it was an 18"...i cant remember..(no cat for sure)..there was a guy on here that had an AMAZING sound for a 22re and he had a magnaflow 14" i believe...

i have a 2.5" exhaust (i got a header too) and a cheap turbo muffler and a turndown..and it dont sound ricey till about 3000rpms..lol

and please don't do a turndown..i've realized that its definitely NOT good for your health...unless your on the road ALMOST ALL THE TIME..
i sit and idle with my truck alot (gotta keep the gf warm guys..LOL) and i usually end up getting random headaches..i suspect it's from the exhaust leaking into the cab..so im going to get that replaced soon..lol

yeah actually i think i might just go with the glasspack cause after doing some youtube searches of exhaust clips there is nothing that beats a glasspack with some fat pipe so thanks for making me now what i wanted guys!
