Exhaust question

So i was thinking of putting a flowmaster 40 series muffler and 2.5" pipes on my 1995 toyota pickup single 22re cab 4wd. Should i just put the muffler on my stock pipes, buy an exhaust system off LCengineering, or buy the muffler and have pipes bent and what not for my truck? please respond on here or email me. thanks for your help

Also, are there any cat back kits out there at a good price that will do the job?.

I also have plans to possibly put on a header from LC engineering in the future.

go with 2.25, instead of 2.5 piping. Honestly, I've had better experiences with buying the muffler and a fancy tip then just taking it to a shop to get it welded on. stock piping is rather small on a 22re... I have a 3vze so im not sure on the exact size. but i think you'd have happier results with 2.25 piping from the cat back. Do you have a 2nd o2 sensor?

Custom bent 2.25" is plenty large for the 22re. 2" is generally acceptable as well, especially on a stock engine (i.e. no header or other mods). 2.5" might reduce velocity too much and may hurt power output slightly.
Stock is 1.875 (1 7/8) iirc.

I think 95s have 2 o2 senors. one in front of the cat, one in the back. Yeah, I knew the piping is rather small on it.

Ok, good. Buddy of mine has 2 o2 senors, one in the front and back of the cat. but this makes your process really easy. go get your flowmaster muffler, and a nice little tip ( you can buy a nice one off summitracing.com for really cheap ) Make sure that your piping is 2.25. 2.5 is just a little bit big on these toyota engines. Once you have your muffler and tip, or if you decide to just buy one at the exhaust shop, have the guy custom bend you an exhaust that goes all the way out to the back left where it exits stock. i think you'll leave satisfied

i got a FM40 SI DO on my 22re and has 2.25 piping sounds pretty good, but yeah x2 on just getting the exhaust bent up at a muffler shop, much easier

you shouldn't spend no more than 75 bucks just for piping and welding it all up. the muffler is the most expensive part. the muffler on my truck was 150... but I went a little extreme with mine, and no one wants to do that... lol it cost me 200 dollars to get my crossover, new cat, muffler, tip and piping all welded up, that included flanges for my cat to take it out and replace it with stock to pass smog emissions.

Ok sweet. yeah a flowmaster 40 is like 80 bucks so ill be happy if pipes are around 100. And i'll prolly have them make a pipe for where my cat is so i can re smog it if needed. thanks for the help guys!
