Exhaust configuration?

I have a complete rebuilt engine and am confused about the exhaust? I have piping that is 1.5" all the way back. I have a new magnaflow cat and a flowmaster 44 on its way. I believe my pipes are too small? Other posts are saying to run 2" manifold to muffler and 2.25" muffler out. The engine is stock with stock manifolds. I am reluctant to return the new pipes. If I did where do I go to get the 2" and 2.25" and how much $ are we talking. WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I KEPT THE 1.5" PIPES?

return the pipes and go to your local muffler shop for the size you want.

2-2.25" is fine for what you're doing.

engine looks good. if your pipes are too small, you'll have a lack of power. probably run rich at WFO.
