engine cut off
#1
well me and a friend went mudding a bit tonight, nothing serious or deep. but i start going ahead and he stops because the last mud we went through his truck (93 pickup 22re) started bogging down and when he stopped it cut off., i thought maybe water in the distributor or intake and checked both but they were dry. it would crank over and try to start but it wouldnt. so we let it sit for awhile and then tried again and it started up but you had to keep giving it gas or it would cut off so finally we get it out of the woods and drive it a good ten miles and its working fine. anyone know whats this could have been?

lots of ideas of what the problem could've been, but wasn't there to troubleshoot what changed between the time the problem occurred and when it was abated. so... I might lean towards a problem around the coil / ignitor, but don't know 'cause I can't see it.

like I said... I can't see what it looked like under the hood when it started acting up, and can't see it now.
water probably got somewhere near where it shouldn't have been, but dried out.
