Electrical gremlins, 3vze

Hey guys,

i recently installed my new longblock and when i went to crank it the engine turned over fine but i had weak spark and would not start. There's good fuel pressure. I checked all the grounds and they are good so i tested the ignition coil and found that the primary resistance was good but secondary was bad, so i will be picking up a new one from advance in the morning. Hopefully this solves my problems so i can get my DD back on the road. If yall know of anything else to test/check please let me know.

thanks as always,

Kyle

Haven't check it yet but I have a spare one so tomorrow if I can replace it to see if it is the problem. I also try using those premium start-up but it also didn't help at all, and when I spray them in I can see them coming out from the tail pipe so it seem to be un-burn so I'm thinking it also could be the ignition coil. Also when I check the valve spec. on the exhaust side all of them have very tight spec., try with .0007 gap and it didn't even slide in so I think its off by alot, but all my intake valve are within spec. ( driver side head only ), so you think this may be the problem for my starting issue?

i dont know much about valves but if they're not functioning properly that could very well be it. your engine needs 4 things to run, timing, air, fuel and spark. it is just hunting down which of these it is..

well i found the problem. turns out when my dad offered to help me he accidently hurt progress. When he installed the distributor he did so 180* out of TDC so of course the engine isn't gonna start. After a quick process of elimination today i figured thats what was wrong. IT LIVES!

awesome, isn't it the best feeling to solve a problem without having to shell out any $$$?
