[IMG][/IMG]my ect has been out for about a week know, and i finally have time to mess with it. I need to know if theres a ect fuse somewhere. i checked on the driverside panel and under the hood, but didn't find any. the light on the dashboard doesnt work and it isn't holding onto shifts longer like it should. its almost as if it is disconnected. if you know of a fuse somewhere for the ect, please let me know. im also just tryin to figure out were to start troubleshooting.. thanks everyone

edit: oh yea, and i tried cleaning that connection were the arrow is pointing too cause it was dirty, but still nothing

UPDATE... kind of: i want to start with the easiest thing. i want to try to bypass the ect switch without frying something. the old paperclip trick in other words. im going to start at the wires that the red arrow is pointing too in the picture above. the colors are 1. green 2. peach and black 3. peach and green 4. white and green. the peach could be pink maybe, i couldn't really tell. but if anyone knows which wires to connect to atleast see if the light pops up on the dash, please share that info with me. thanks

Went through my cheapy books and as usual theres nothing, The closest thing I can come to is the center fuse in the inside fusebox.

The schematics are so horible or non-existant for that item, You may also have to track down the ECT modual itelf and work in both directions.

thats exactly what im doing. all i had time for today was to check and see if there was power getting to the switch, i confirmed that it had power and that the switch was functioning, so im gonna have to trace the wire all the way down. it'll be fun. o well. i did manage to clean the center console up a bit while it was apart

The Black/Orange wire should have power. When the switch is in the Power position it should switch power to the Green/Orange wire which directly powers up the light on the dash and signals the ECM to change to power mode.

If the light does not power up and the Green/Orange wire has power you may need to pull the instrument cluster to see if the bulb is good.

Now bulb function will not effect whether or not it changes mode, only if you are notified.

you can jumper from Black/Orange to Green/Orange as a test.
