E-Locker trouble???

I have read tech articles about installing the TRD E-Locker and nowhere in there does it say anything about shortening the axle shafts but I put one in an 87 rear axle and my axles are to long they bottom out 1/4 inch away from tightening up, anyone else had this problem or am I doing something wrong ?? THANKS!!

Just a thought, but try rotating the pinion as you insert the shafts. It may be that the splines are not lined up. Good luck.

You do not need to shorten the axle shafts at all.

Rotate the shaft as you put it in, and it should slide right in there.

I love the e-locker in my truck. I didnt put any resistors in the wiring, used a factroy switch and some relays and never have had any trouble with it.

Its been answered but the shafts are the same...something is not lining up. I had a hang up on one side make sure its unlocked and if you have someone helping you they can spin the pinion just a bit to get it to go right in.
