driveline removal/installation tip
Just did a search on how to get the rear driveshaft back in. The search came up with nil.
I was having a real tough time getting the shaft in there. I don't know if this is normal but I couldn't get that 2 piece drive shaft to compress at all. Every time I tried to install it the collar on the shaft flange would hit the pinion nut and would not sit in place anywhere close to where it should've been. Tried to use a little pry bar then a bigger pry bar to get it in place, but no avail.
So here's the tip:
I had the rear axle up on jackstands and I used a jackall with a piece of 2x4 to lift the body about 2 inches. It changed the angle of rear dif to transfer case and the shaft slid into place.
hope this helps someone

Ok I just did this a week ago listed carefully.....put the rear on first add washers and nuts do not torque down yet #2...now at the front take the yoke and put it on the top of the thansfer case flange holding it in that position move under the yoke so that u can see the nut and the part of the driveshaft flange that has to go over the yoke nut. 3#..now that your in position to see that the yoke flange has to go over the nut take a flat head screwdriver or a pry bar and get between the flange of the shaft and the flange of the yoke flange put pressure on the flange of the shaft pushing it back towards the rear end while holding the yoke and pulling down on the yoke and keep the pressure on and slide the yoke down and over the nut then u have it......sounds like a lot of work but u will know what I'm talking about once your under the auto and looking at things
