Downey springs

Ok, i bought downey 3in lift springs for the rear of my 86 4runner to fix the sag. I have bumpstops set accordingly. I went on ONE wheeling trip and now the ers are just as bad as the stock springs! has anyone else had this issue? I plan on speaking with someone today as i am rather pissed at the situation.

I've heard this quite alot actualy, but usualy it's that they sagged back to like 1.5in of lift or so. I went with the OME's because they've got a far better rep, and I couldn't be happier. These springs have completyely changed the truck.

Cheers

i have been running the Downey 3" springs for almost a year now with the downey shackles and have not had a problem yet. my 33s clear the body perfectly.

Did you take out, or reuse your overload leaf?

Hey Dave, I was looking at ordering the OME's this week. How much of a lift did you order your springs with? I'm not sure whether to order the 2 or 3". My butt is sagging now, and I just want to make it level again or an inch higher.

I did not reuse the overload because it didn't say i "HAD" to. Plus its just a wheeler, i don't carry with it. After a very dumb person over there tried to explain to me why i had to use it. And not hearing me say "I KNOW NOW". He followed to send me to there "In House Tech"

The sales team was excellent and it took me 5 minutes to get the damn springs shipped, shipping was great, but quality is

I am gonna just order LT trail gear springs now. 240 down the drain...

Does anyone else think that i could toss the Overload in there now and see improvement? Or will it still sag worse than stock?

The instructions on mine said to install the overload in the leaf pack. At this point you don't have anything to lose but the time it takes to install the overload leaf.

So far my springs have been fine and have not sagged at all.

good luck

Ditto. I re used the overload. Mine are holding up well and I've pounded them. You've got nothing to lose trying the overload now.

Damn dude that sucks. Ya, I would try to add the extra leaf as well. I've read good and bad things about Downey springs.
