I'd go for it, I like the shorter wheel base. Personal choice I think. I cut 20 inches out of my frame. Shorten a drive shaft and a couple of lines and your on your way...I relocated my gas tank.

I've got an 88 std cab longbed that I had thought 'bout 2xbobbin'. Got a 87 runner frame at local junkyard with my name on it. Skip the frame fab altogether, 'cept movin' mounts around.

I don't personally like the look of the bobbed beds.

However, to save some fabbing, why not find a beat up single cab truck and swap your cab and stuff onto it. Then bob the bed to fit.

I'm gonna try. Most the rest of the parts off it are already on my truck A runners got same frame as a short bed pickup that year.

that would be so much more work. i only need to make 4 mounts for the bed and move the axle(wich i am allready when i install my new springs) all i need to do it extra is bed mounts

I put my Gas tank where the spare tire was. A little cutting required.

Yes, I hope to fit my 3.slow where was a 22RE. My original idea was to make myself a std cab shortbed outta my std cab londbed , 'cause I think that's what I wan't,somedays. I'm a little 50/50 on it. If I'm goin' that far I'll be whackin' the ass-end back to the spring perches, too.
