It seems to be creating a large vac leak. but has been wide open for as long as I can remember

ya man, your missing some stuff off of it. theres a plastic screw type thing that goes down in there with a spring so you can adjust it. its a valve. if i had a pic handy id post it.. just look around on here for pics.

Whats it adjust ?? something with the AC ??? Can I, should I cap it ??? could it be causing my rough Idle ???

It will definitely be causing some idle issues lol.

I'm not a 22RE owner so I can't say for sure, but I'll guess it's the idle up line for the A/C. Do you have A/C?

its there but does not work. no belt hooked up to it.

I would just cap it than. Wrap some tape around it or something if you don't have a cap.

if I'm not mistaken, it idles up during load from the AC and/or the power steering

It's the idle-up port. There's supposed to be a plastic needle valve screwed into it.

Both the A/C and P/S use this valve for idle up.

I capped it, seems to idle a little better but still not where I would like it. I guess Ill just keep looking !
