Hey guys, Just curious what sounds lead me to belive I havea bad water pump? It sounds like a dry scrape constantly maybe its something else? of course it changes with engine revs but any leads would be great.. Oil level is fine fyi.

 

Is the water pump pulley loose at all? Loosing any coolant? Those would be signs. Otherwise it could be the bearings in one of the other pulleys making your noise

 

If the water pump is going bad it will leak. Any leaking? Where is the sound coming from exactly? 22R engine, right?

And guys I looked under the hood last night only to find one of my pulleys was stripped! Now what is the name of the pulley directly in front of the head? its the highest pulley in the engine so you 22rs can hep me! I need to replace it obviously.... thanks guys!

pretty sure its my fan belt pulley but just making sure..

 

It should be the power steering pulley, 3 bolts right on to the head coorect? It doesnt do anyting except guide the belt. You will probably want a new one.. check your junkyards and when you get it grease it up good (i have the same problem as you all the time because my engine gets put underwater)
